Creative Director/Designer/Web/Motion/Film/Video/3D
Who? Me. Chris Curl. Two syllables. One mission. To challenge myself by making a move. To Austin. Because I can. With over thirteen years of experience in all of these – web design, development, management, marketing and video production. I found it time to expand my horizons and Austin is the place for me to do that. I’m looking for the environment that is a good fit for my skills and experience, the place where I can inspire and be inspired. I’m very willing to travel for interviews pre-arrival and am flexible in my arrival date. I am looking forward to working with good people in any or all of the following, although if all, cloning may be required - Senior Interactive Designer, Interactive Director, Creative Director, Motion Graphics Artist, Videographer/Editor.
Skillset
Probably not my strongest skill – to talk about my skills. But like they teach you in math, I show my work. What you see below is a listing of some of what I have had an opportunity to develop over the years. If you’re interested in hearing more about any of them, I would love to talk further, either by phone, Skype, in a boardroom-type setting, or over a refreshing beverage.
Design
Make it look as good as possible with the given resources, then make the logo bigger.
Project Management
Putting all of the puzzle pieces on the table and making sure nothing is missing.
Coding
HTML/CSS/Javascript/jQuery/PHP/.NET - I can write the simpler stuff and I know how to find and modify the rest.
Deadlines and Budgets
The necessary evils of getting work done, I know how to assess and get the work done within the given limitations.
Content Management
Creating and modifying templates in Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress, finding and setting up the needed extensions and keeping the software up-to-date.
Client/Vendor Relations
Through face to face meetings or phone calls to assess needs, provide strategy and fulfill requests with a minimum of buzzwords.
Video Production
I have played most every role there is in video production, am very comfortable behind the scenes.
Video Editing
Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere are friends of mine.
Motion Graphics
After Effects is fun, and combining it with 3D is even better.
3D Modeling & Animation
I have seen the light, I mean I have seen the Global Illumination.
Social Media
This is gonna be big.

Who doesn't love getting emails? Effective, targeted HTML emails through sites like Constant Contact and Campaign Monitor.
Hardware & Software
Equally comfortable on Windows and OS X. Skilled in the use of Adobe CS family of software (CS5 and below). Experienced with additional programs like Final Cut Pro and Cinema 4D.
